Why buy an extended service contract?

When you buy a new or used vehicle, you are always faced with the question - 'should I buy the extended service contract/warranty?'

Personally, everytime I have purchased a used vehicle, I have bought the extended service warranty and got my money's worth. There was either a break down that required a tow, or a very expensive repair job.

I guess that is why you purchase homeowner's insurance and health insurance. You never know what might happen.

There are several options to consider when purchasing an extended service contract. Plus, you should consider the vehicle you are purchasing. How old is it, shape of engine, tires, etc.

The 2011 Sienna has arrived

This photo has nothing to do with the all new Sienna van, but it is an interesting shot and wanted to share it! The sun was just at the right angle and both logos fit so nice in there...enjoy!

Now - on to the new Sienna! Toyota has redesigned the family van - it really looks cool. Seriously - this is a van everyone will enjoy driving, even dads! As the brochure says: 'Sienna minivan is expanding its appeal well beyond soccer moms.'

The new design changes the aerodynamics, which improve the handling stability of the Sienna. It also comes well-equipped with dual-stage front and side airbags for the driver and front passenger and side curtain airbags cover the full length of the cabin.

Kids will enjoy the new rear-seat Dual View Entertainment system that is available. Bigger kids will enjoy the expanded legroom.

A Few Car Buying Tips

First of all, if you are bringing in a trade, make sure it's clean - inside and out. Wash it well, vacuum the interior, clean out the glove box and cargo/trunk area. This may seem trivial, but it gives the dealership an idea of how the vehicle has been taken care of.

Make sure you take a test drive, especially if you are buying a used vehicle. Test the interior heating and cooling system and make sure all the doors and windows open and close, lock and unlock. You should test braking, sudden acceleration and how it handles on the highway.

You should ask yourself how you will use the vehicle - errands around town or lots of highway driving? If you will be spending a lot of time in your vehicle, you will want to be sure it is a comfortable fit. If you'll be hauling kids and their gear, check on cargo space and if they have enough room for their feet, etc.

There are a lot of factors that will go into your decision to purchase a vehicle. Try to cover all the bases before you sign on the dotted line.

Thanks for a great January!

Thank you from all of us at Cedric Theel Toyota Scion. This year is off to a great start - we sold more new Toyotas and Toyota Certified Used last month than in any previous January.

We think there are many reasons...we have a very large inventory of new and used Toyotas right now. In fact, our inventory has never been better.

We are able to serve you better in our new dealership. Every department has more space, which makes it easer to make sure you are getting the service you deserve, before and after the sale. We are more comfortable, and that makes you more comfortable. Come on out and have a cup of coffee someday, sit in one of our nice chairs and see what we mean!

We treat our customers right. We will soon be celebrating our 25th anniversary and are looking ahead to the next 25 years. Our commitment to our customers is the most important thing in our dealership. If you're not happy, we're not happy - it's a simple as that.
